In which I complain about the weather because my life is just that prosaic…

I was listening to Simon and Garfunkel on the train this morning. They were singing, “April, come she will, when streams are ripe and swelled with rain.” And I’ve had that song in my head all day long.

Unfortunately, I just read the weather forecast:

Apr 12 - Rain and snow in the morning. The rain and snow will change to all rain in the afternoon. Some sleet may mix in. High 39F. Winds E at 20 to 30 mph

Apr 13 - Mix of rain and snow showers. Highs in the upper 40s and lows in the mid 30s

So what? Now I have to change the lyrics to “when streams are ripe and swelled with MELTING SNOW?!?!

There are many problems with this situation, chief among them is the fact that it should not be snowing in April, but running a close second is the fact that those new lyrics are not very catchy.
