In which I wonder if my boss� subconscious is channeling Alanis Morissette�

Our Regional Director just sent our office a two page e-mail, which provides helpful hints to make our legal documents more reader-friendly.

The e-mail contained the following quote:

Some things to avoid in the decisional document are:� 4. Excessive use of footnotes or placing important information in footnotes: Footnotes are a distraction to the reader and should be used sparingly. If the information is important, it should be placed in the body of the document so it will not be overlooked.

The e-mail also contained a footnote.

I don�t think it was meant to be ironic.
