In which we become restaurant critics…
Geoff and I recently went to dinner at The Tavern at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, MA. My mom had given us a gift card for Christmas and we decided to bust it out on Saturday.
Our review, in four points:
- The food is great.
- The atmosphere is warm and classically tavern-ish.
- The median age of the restaurant’s patrons is 74.
- The service is slow, painfully slow, so slow that my husband made the following observation:
“It’s amazing that there are so many old people here; they don’t have that much time left and this is what they’re doing with it?”
